Jyoti Model Sr. Sec. School observed world disability day on 3rd Dec. 2015. The aim was to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well being of persons with disabilities. Such programmes motivate and engage students from school age to develop an empathetic understanding towards day to day challenges faced by children with disability in their personal academic and recreational aspects of life. Poster making and slogan writing competitions were held to mark the world disability day.

Earth- the magnificent planet, also called the blue planet, serves as a home to all living beings. It sustains millions of species, by providing them the valuable natural resources, they depend upon for survival. An increase in human population and their grooving demand on the available resources have significantly accelerated their depletion. The Jyoti Model Sr. Sec. School celebrated the Earth day on 22nd April 2015, to provide an opportunity to sensitize our students about environmental issues and build in them a positive and caring attitude. Students through their participation in a number of group projects, rallies, speeches and debates gave a message to utilize natural resource sustainably and judiciously.
The Matribhasha diwas was celebrated on 21st February, 2015 in Jyoti Model Sr. Sec. school. The main objective of the programme was to impart communication skills and proficiency in mother tongue and other Indian languages and to sensitize people about the need of greater use of mother tongue for the development and progress of the nation. Students from classes VI to X recited poems, delivered speeches and song folk songs in different languages like Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, and Marathi.
Eyes are the most crucial portion of the body in the face. A good care and protection of eyes from various diseases was the motto of the camp. Eye Checkup camp was organized by lions club, Naya Bazaar, Kohinoor on 9th Dec. @014 at Jyoti Model Sr. Sec. School.

The Jyotians celebrated Teej in the school premises with great fervour on 17th August, 2015. Students presented a talk show to highlight the significance of teej. A competition was held on Mehandi designs. This festival is a glimpse of our rich cultural heritage and by celebrating such festivals, the students get to imbibe the cultural values.

Children's Day was celebrated at Jyoti Model Sr. Sec. School by the junior wing students. It was a fun filled day for students. The programme began with prayer, dance and tributes to Chacha Nehru. The Day had the theme of love. Children dressed up colourfully based on themes given to them.
To pay tribute to the great freedom fighter, eminent educationist and the first union minister of education, Moulana Abul Kalam Azad, the National Education Day was celebrated in school premises on 3rd November, 2014. The three Categories of participants were a) Classes I to V b) Classes VI to VIII c) classes IX to XI Essay and poetry writing competitions were held.
In a unique interaction with students from across the country on Teacher's Day, the Prime Minister said the relevance of Teacher's Day on the birthday of Dr. Radhakrishnan needs to be reinterpreted in a changed world. He said, "It is essential to highlight the importance of a teacher in society & restore respect for the teacher in society. Only then can the teacher mould our new generation". The speech motivated the students to contribute in nation building by doing simple things such as striving for cleanliness and helping to conserve electricity & water. Students enjoyed the live webcast of Prime Minister's interaction with students.
Mahatma Gandhi wished to see a "clean India" Where people work hand in hand to make the country clean. Swachhta, that is cleanliness is a basic human value that has to be inculcated and constantly reinforced among our students so that cleanliness becomes an integral part of their total personality. With respect to this, the Jyotians celebrated "Swachh Vidyalaya, Swachh Delhi" Campaign from 2nd October 2014 to 31st October 2014. During this, students participated in various activities to clean the class rooms and school premises. A rally was also organized to take the mission to local community, there by fulfilling a wider national goal.
The school organizes science and Mathematics exhibitions on regular basis to provide a forum for children to pursue their natural curiosity, creativity, innovation and inventiveness to make children feel that Science and Mathematics are all around us and one can gain knowledge as well as many problems by relating the learning to the physical and social environment.

Aviskar Quiz Series as directed by C.B.S.E. is conducted every month to promote creativity and innovative spirits among school children in the area of science, mathematics and technology. The quiz involves primary (I - V), middle (VI - VIII) and secondary (IX - X) wing.

The 67th Republic Day was celebrated in all its solemnity and grandeur at Jyoti Model Sr. Sec. School on 25th Jan. 2016. The students saluted the national flag and pledged themselves to uphold the honour and integrity; diversity and uniqueness of India. The choir group presented the patriotic songs. The students joined the choir and the songs reverberated in the surroundings. Various cultural programmes were organised.
